SHIGRAS CLUTCH

Since 2020, we have been collaborating with an Ecuadorian family led by Alicia and her two children, who coordinate a network of artisans in a small town where textile tradition remains alive generation after generation.

Each collection is produced in very limited series of between 30 and 50 pieces, with production times of approximately 40 days. This unhurried pace is due to a completely artisanal process, where every detail is handcrafted.

The designs are born from the inspiration of the artisans themselves, who cultivate the cabuya fiber, treat it, and dye it with natural pigments before weaving each bag. The result is unique compositions that turn each piece into a true work of art.

The name “Shigras” comes from Kichwa and means “bag,” a word linked to the tradition of indigenous women in the region, who are the true guardians of this artisanal knowledge.

Our Shigras clutch is an exceptional piece born from the encounter between ancestral craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Completely handwoven with cabuya fiber —a resistant and light natural fiber—, each bag is the result of a meticulous process that begins with the cultivation, treatment, and natural dyeing of the raw material and culminates in a unique piece.
