This Suzani item is not only full of beautiful colors, but the embroidery is also handmade. Suzani embroidery is done by Indian artisans, using the tambour to create a unique and vivid Suzani embroidery pattern. The name “Suzani” comes from the Persian word “su-zan” which means needle. Indian artisans use a hooked needle instrument called a tambour to create the intricate chain stitches that are the hallmark of Suzani embroidery. By purchasing our Suzani embroidery styles, you are supporting local artisans and traditional Indian crafts.

This kimono is made from a vintage kantha cotton blanket and decorated with colorful suzani embroidery all over. It is a long kimono that comes with a detachable belt. The kimono is oversized and made with dropped shoulders, long, wide sleeves and hidden side seam pockets.  As it is one size, it ranges from a 34 to a 40.
