SHIGRAS BOMBONERA BAG

The word shigras means "bag" in Kichwa in the language of the Ecuadorian Andes area. We have been working with a family of artisans from a small region near Quito since 2020, with the first collection being a success in the middle of a global pandemic. After several attempts, we have managed to incorporate leather zippers to close these bags.

The body of the bag is made of cabuya, a natural fiber obtained from the plant. The handle and print of the body of the bag are sewn by hand in our factory in Ubrique, (Cádiz) with top quality vegetable leather. As it is a delicate piece, it is advisable not to put excessive weight on the bag so that it does not get damaged.

Shigras bombonera bags are an exceptional fusion of indigenous tradition and Spanish expertise. Each bag is handwoven with cabuya fiber by artisans from Indigenous communities in Ecuador, respecting techniques passed down through generations. The vegetable-tanned leather finish, crafted in Ubrique, elevates each piece to the realm of sustainable luxury.
