In July 2021 we went to visit the Oaxaca region and we were looking for suppliers. In this small town we met a family of artisans dedicated to the textile sector for more than three decades. Thanks to an intimate conversation, they opened the doors of their home to us and showed us the process of making each cushion. We are amazed at the professionalism and delicacy with which each piece is worked on the pedal loom, a pre-Hispanic work tool. It caught our attention because in another state of Mexico, in Chiapas, they use the backstrap loom to make other articles such as Kaloval bag. It is impressive how such an old tool adapts to the needs of the pieces to be created. From that moment, it was clear to us: a business opportunity for us and a development opportunity for this family. The designs have been created by the La Mansa team following the recommendations of the artisans.
